Hudson Valley United Reformed Church

New Hampton, New York

In 2004, a group of 35 families in New York’s Hudson Valley banded together to form the Hudson Valley United Reformed Church. Their new church was established and supported generously, but they did not have a permanent place of worship. After gathering member pledges and taking out a mortgage, construction finally began on a new facility in New Hampton, New York.

Sleepy Hollow Bridge

Sylvania, Ohio

Built in the 1960’s, the covered bridge at the entrance of Sleepy Hollow is one of the most unique and identifying aspects of the Sylvania, Ohio subdivision. But in 2009, the city determined that the concrete substructure spanning Ten Mile Creek needed to be replaced. The residents of Sleepy Hollow faced a difficult decision: see their covered bridge replaced with a standard open concrete bridge, or pay for the construction of a new timber frame cover for the bridge.
